Ships calling at Egyptian ports for discharging
Before arrival the local agents require copies of:
- Full set of Bills of Lading.
- C/P and manifests showing cargo description, load
port, shippers, weight / measurements and discharging
terms. Accurate figures should appear for customs
and stevedoring.
- Stowage plan.
- For ships carrying containers, the Bills of Lading
must be marked with the demurrage clause for exchange
control purposes.
- Freight earned should be substantiated with relative
documents (C/P, Bs/L, etc.) especially for liner cargo.
It is advisable to keep onboard a full set of aforementioned,
ready on arrival for presentation to port agents/ authorities.
- Main terms of C/P (tendering NOR / FIOS or LINER/etc.).
- Instructions for the release of cargo in lieu of
presentation of original Bs/l.
- Instructions for any freight to be collected at
destination or payment of demurrage's.
