Suez Odense Marine Service operates a unique large floating
dock right at the southern port of the Suez Canal.
The joint venture between the Suez Canal
Authorities and Odense Steel Shipyard Ltd, means that
all repair and maintenance assignment can be taken care
of close to the shipping route and close to the oil
industry.
Having direct access to the Red Sea at the southern
entrance of the Suez Canal, SOMS is perfectly located
to offer a wide range of services to international customers.
To international marine operators, SOMS provides professional
repair and maintenance within fields such as:
- Maintenance of hull and steel structures
- Surface treatment, grid blasting, tank coating and
painting
- Maintenance and upgrading of information technology,
electrical, electronic as well as navigation systems

SOMS unique floating dock has a lifting capacity of
55.000 tonnes and is second to none in this part of
the world.
Heavy sections can also be handled without problems
by the gantry crane with a lifting capacity of 150 tonnes.
With a lift period of less than 2 hours with a full
load of 55.000 tonnes, operations can be initiated with
limited loss of up-time.
The 302 meter long and 56 meter wide pontoon deck ensures
outstanding docking capacity and can provide service
to a wide range of marine operators.
